inside the clear.

Apparently women cry on average 64 times per year, and men about 17. Do most people really cry that much?! I only cry like 2-3 times per year. I like the part that cites Darwin's claim that there is no benefit to emotional crying. Obviously crying is cathartic and releases pent up energy, making us feel better. Duh, Darwin.

I actually really wanted to get this Jack Spade frog dissection kit for Amanda for xmas, but apparently the bleeding heart animal people think it's cruel and inhumane. So, when we dissected the cow heart and the frogs in high school biology lab, that was criminal rather than educational? How about when we anesthetized fruit flies or dissected mushrooms? Jeez.

When TV sort of imitates life and then life tries to be more like TV...?

Some travelers are more equal than others.

"always the black man, never the bride"?
Today my friend Eric would have been 30.
...if he didn't shoot himself in the head last year.
The "30 is the new 20" stuff is bullshit to cater to people living in a state of arrested development.
In our eyes, Eric's development will always plateau at age 28.
In about 2 months I'll be 30.
I thought his death anniversary would be harder, but it wasn't.
...but growing apart via birthdays kinda is.
Thinking about marriage and children is still a bit scary for me, but career and property most definitely are not.
I think the point is that 30 can be both responsible and fun.
I wish you could be here with us, Eric.

Girl Pulp
Only a tiny amount of my clients ever alter things I've designed for them but I hate it when that happens because they always make it uglier. Generally they just do this to save themselves my fees and just update information on something I've already created for them, but most of the time they don't know how to properly do so, and the end result reflects poorly on all involved.

The recent Charlotte Gainsbourg album (5:55) is awesome. The music is Air and the lyrics are Jarvis Cocker. Quite a combo. The best part is how Charlotte sings Jarvis' lyrics with the exact same inflections that he would and it's all so hot and preposterous. So... Jarvis Cocker. Yum.

possibilities.

Living better through design.

Entertainment through the dialog of strangers.

"Cosmophonic press-a-button change my face," the online toy.

A favorite among things I've designed recently.
