For a brief period in 2003, Al-Jazeera searches were three times more popular than searches for sex:

as time goes by...
The past 5 days were mostly great. I love nothing more than Rahmin and I hanging out without much interference by computers, turntables, etc. Truly, of the best things ever.

Today, as I was dressing, I noticed my stomach feels bigger. I think I need to take my own advice to others and lay off the beer. Too bad it's easier to drink in quantity than the drink drinks that I prefer. Without drinking and smoking a lot it's hard to otherwise avoid boredom when in a bar for several hours. Since I don't like bars anyway, I've been trying not to go to them when I or someone close to me is not performing.

It's been wonderful to stay away from this computer for several days but now there is much that needs to be done. I made myself a list as I often do when I am working with/for myself and they are always really really long.
I don't understand when people tell me that they can't find stuff to do.

titles are hard
I don't often quote but this one resonates with me.
The men the American people admire most extravagantly are the most daring liars; the men they detest most violently are those who try to tell them the truth. -- H.L. Mencken
Hey! The Emporer's naked. Merry Christmas!

photolicious and questionable news
I love putting more photos than words here. A picture is worth a thousand words and then I don't have to deal with that what and how to express in writing issue.

So, was I hallucinating when I heard on the news last week that Madeline Albright accuses the current administration of having or knowing where Osama Bin Laden is but waiting for an opportune political time to notify the public? I haven't heard another mention of it since.

Saturday afternoon with the fam.
Until very recently, Rahmin's extended family had never been photographed by us.
They make the best food.

AND
sometime during last weekend as well,
my dad showed me this crazy pretty gamba he got
all stenciled ivy and all sorts of intricate detail
and a carved buddha-head on top!

Classify me!
ENTJ? or ISFJ? or INFJ?
First I came out as an ENTJ but I was pretty close to the margin on 3 of the 4 categories. Then I did it again and the margins were even closer.
Why am I even writing more about this?

In other events, I've been really hungry and not doing much of anything that is important. Tomorrow we go to Blue Ribbon Oysters for my dad's 61st birthday. Saturday is the awesome soul show at Southpaw. Solomon Burke!

Personality tests are hard to believe. They seem to arbitrary. I just took the Myers-Briggs test at: similarminds.com and it says I am an ESTJ (Extroverted, Sensing, Thinking, Judging). My percentages are as follows:

Extroverted (E) 54.05% vs. Introverted (I) 45.95%
Sensing (S) 55% vs. Intuitive (N) 45%
Thinking (T) 52.5% vs. Feeling (F) 47.5%
Judging (J) 60.61% vs. Perceiving (P) 39.39%

Some of my scares are pretty close (i.e. 55%-45%, 52.5%-47.5%) Wouldn't someone who scored 99%-1% all through the chart (in favor of all the same characteristics) be very different than me even though they would be classified as the same thing? These tests are fun but I don't think that I'm "looking for myself" so why spend time taking these tests?
You know why?
Why?
Because I have lots of things that I should be doing today but instead I'm really tired and lethargic. Today is my first true "day off" since the end of the semester last Thurs night and I deserve it. I got an "A "in my writing class. It is the first (and right now the only) of my grades that is in the system. Yay!

The past few days were very eventful. Here are some of the best pics.

Magnetic Field 1st Anniversary Party.
It was mobbed. It was too crowded for my taste but everyone seemed really happy. We didn't like the first few DJs very much: mediocre reggae/dub then god-knows-what and then a pair of guys DJing mostly with CDs (which I think is cheating). Even if a DJs style is varied, one should be able to identify it as something besides crap.

and it seemed as though a good time was had by all.

yes, a good time was had by all.

and Sherry sold a few paintings which is the coolest thing ever. They are all so good and she absolutely deserves it.

My new years resolution is to post here more often.

Christmas
Yay! It's almost Christmas. A cliche, I know, but it's my favorite holiday.
Our building management put a Christmas tree in the lobby and all I have to do is look out the window to see it. Lovely.

random bit
interesting but nice shirts are hard to come by.

I have a list of things I need/want to do in the long term but short term demands consistently eat them. I get a 2 week vacation after this semester is over (in a week!).
